Student finance and loan repayments

In the UK, student finance includes tuition and maintenance loans. After you leave your course, you repay your loan when your income is above the threshold for your plan. Repayments are 9% of your income above the threshold and are usually taken through PAYE. Your plan (1, 2, 4, 5 or postgraduate) depends on when and where you started studying. Thresholds are updated each tax year; always confirm yours on gov.uk.
