How to calculate exchange rates

To convert an amount from one currency to another, use the formula: amount in target currency = amount in source currency × (exchange rate to target / exchange rate to source). When rates are quoted against a base (e.g. GBP), divide your amount by the source rate and multiply by the target rate.

Example: 100 GBP to USD. If 1 GBP = 1.27 USD, then 100 GBP = 100 × 1.27 = 127 USD. Use the calculator on the left for any amount and pair.
